Parish Notice of election 6 May 2021

Northumberland has ‘all out’ elections for all County Council and Parish Council seats, including the Police and Crime Commissioner on 6th May 2021.

If you are not already registered to vote, you can do so using the Register to Vote link below:


You can still register for a postal vote for these elections, up to 5:00pm on Tuesday 20th April 2021.  Do not delay if you wish to exercise your right to vote by post.  You can register using the form linked below:


Nomination Papers

The nomination papers for candidates who wish to stand for any of the 7 seats on Beadnell Parish Council –  are available from Northumberland County Council –  Northumberland County Council – Voting and Elections

or the Parish Clerk –

Nomination papers can only be handed in to Northumberland County Council (NCC) between 29th March and 8th April at designated locations in Alnwick, Berwick, Hexham and Morpeth (addresses are provided within the nomination process guidance). You can however make an appointment with NCC to have your nomination papers checked informally prior to 29th March – this is recommended and can be done by the following link:

If there are more nominations than seats available, there will be an election, with polling on 6th May.  If there are the same number of nominations as seats available, there will not be an election and candidates will be ‘elected unopposed’ on 9th April 2021.

Local Electoral Roles
Northumberland County Council’s Elections Office is recruiting for the elections that take place on 6 May. Available roles include.
  • Polling Station Staff across Northumberland.
  • Postal Vote Opening Staff, with all sessions taking place at Blyth Sports Centre on;

Tuesday 27th April, 10am till finish

Wednesday 28th April, 10am till finish

Friday 30th April, 10am till finish

Tuesday 4th May, 10am till finish

Wednesday 5th May, 10am till finish

Thursday 6th May, day 12noon till 6pm & evening 7pm till finish.

Above time are subject to change.

  • Verification and Count Staff, with all sessions taking place at Blyth Sports Centre on;
    Thursday 6th May, commencing at 10pm till finish
    Friday 7th May, day. Time to be confirmed
    Saturday 8th May, day. Time to be confirmed

Following the submission of the electronic application form, you will receive a confirmation email and you may be required to provide right to work documentation if you have not already done so.

We will contact successful applicants to give details of the role(s) to which they have been appointed.

Please note that Public Health for England guidance on Covid 19 will be adhered to at this election and you may be required to use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) which will be provided where it is deemed necessary.

The following petition was started by local residents and Beadnell Parish Council has agreed to place the link on this website for information purposes only. This should not be seen as a Beadnell Parish Council endorsement of the views expressed in the petition and it accepts no responsibility for the accuracy of the content.
Beadnell Parish Council and Newton by the Sea Parish Council will meet remotely on 14th April with the National Trust and AONB to discuss the proposals for the nesting season 2021 for the Long Nanny area. The meeting will be open to the public with limited participation. An Agenda with further details will be issued nearer the time.
